Syncing Your iTunes Music Library
You can save care recipient’s music to the iPad by syncing your iTunes library. The songs will be saved locally, so you will be able to play them even if you do not have a connection to the internet.
Step 1: Plug Your iPad into the Computer
Use the Lightning charging cord to plug the iPad into the computer that’s used to maintain your iTunes music library.
Step 2: Open iTunes, Set Up as New Device
When you open iTunes, it will recognize that a new iPad has been connected. Choose the option for “Set up as new iPad”. Then tap “Continue”.
Step 3: Open Music from the iPad Menu
Once the iPad syncs to iTunes, the settings will display. Click on the option for Music.
Step 4: Sync Your Music Library
Check the box to the left of “Sync Music”.
Step 5: Choose Playlists or Sync the Entire Library
By default, the option to sync the entire music library is selected. You also have the option to sync specific playlists, if desired. When finished, tap the Done button in the bottom right.
Step 6: Keep iPad Connected While Music Syncs
It will take a few minutes to sync the music library to your iPad. You can view your progress at the top center of the screen.
Step 7: Disconnect the iPad
Tap the Eject button. Then, unplug the iPad from the computer.
Playing Music on the iPad
Once you have synced your iTunes library to the iPad, you can play music via the built-in Music app.
Step 1: Open the Music App
Step 2: Tap Library for Viewing Options
By default, Recently Added music will display. Tap the Library button to view other options for displaying music.
Step 3: Select Your Preferred View
You can view music organized by playlists, artists, albums, or songs. Choose your preferred option.
